Delegates pointed that the growth of this industry was increasing rapidly. For example, in 2005, the whole area’s volume was 400,000 tons, but in 2007 it reached 1 million tons. Especially in 2008, it is estimated to reach 1.3 million tons. In 1997, pangasius export was only 20 million USD, untill 2007 it came to 737 million USD.

Rapid growth went along with damaged environment and direct impact on farming pangasius.

At the conference, it was suggested that farmers have to obey the law about structure of fish farm, and limit bad effect on the environment, ecosystem, etc and using feeding food effectively as well.
